I had Maverick Masonry come out and repair the Masonry/stone on my stucco home. The stones were cracking and falling off due to being bombarded by the sun over the last ten years. Mike repaired and made the current stone look brand new. The price was perfect and was put on the schedule promptly. I highly recommend Maverick Masonry's service.

Mike was one of the few contractors I could find that would take on a difficult repair job on our existing retaining wall. After getting past a little snag on the material needed, Mike delivered what he promised. The subs he hired did a good job in spite of some weather delays and the finish product looks really good, especially considering how wonky that wall was. What set Mike apart is he listened to some concerns I had about other issues and put me in touch with a few other contractors. Too soon to tell if any of that will work out, but I appreciate his willingness to think about ways to get the job done that aren't the most expensive options.

Mike at Maverick, and the whole team, were great to work with. I had an older house that we remodeled and we wanted to add columns and a gate to protect the property. Mike and his team handled the columns, new mailbox and was able to perfectly match the original stone on the house. I also contracted him to seal the stone to give it a slick finished look. I'm contracting Mike to do my firepit area next. Again, great communicator and his team provides excellent work!

We hired Maverick Masonry to do some restoration work on our homes in South Tampa. We have worked with several companies in the past to do various types of work on our properties and Mike by far was the most pleasant to work with. His high attention to detail and knowledge captivated us. He's honest and cares not only about your home but, also your customer experience. He's knowledgeable and experienced. We will continue to recommend him to anyone who is needing work done to their home or business. His entire team has done a great job with little to no supervision. This is company you can count on. Thanks, Mike!

A friend recommended that I reach out to Maverick Masonry Company for our Paver Driveway. I was able to get a response immediately. Mike walked me through every step-by-step of the process, he then gave me a quote that was reasonable for my family. They were very efficient, and worked in a timely manner. We were extremely pleased with the final result. The entire time they kept the work environment clean and well-managed. His crew was awesome too! The pavers came out amazing, we are more than happy with our experience. We will be reaching out for more projects soon.

At Maverick Masonry, we pride ourselves on the strong relationships we've built with our clients over the years. Here are four key reasons why our clients continue to choose us for their masonry and concrete needs:
Commitment to excellence and quality in every project
Personalized service tailored to each client's unique needs

Strong communication and transparency throughout the construction process
Concrete blocks offer a modern look and structural solidity, natural stone provides timeless beauty and unique character, and timber adds warmth and a natural feel. Each material has its benefits, with concrete being highly durable and low maintenance, stone offering natural variation and strength, and timber providing a cost-effective option with a softer appearance. The choice should align with the landscape's overall design and the specific needs of the project, such as soil retention capacity and height requirements.
The installation timeline for a retaining wall can vary significantly based on several factors, including the wall's length, height, material, and the complexity of the design. Small, simpler projects using concrete blocks may be completed in a few days, while larger or more intricate designs with natural stone or intricate patterns could extend the project to several weeks. Preparation work, such as excavation and foundation laying, also plays a critical role in determining the overall timeline.
The cost of a retaining wall is influenced by the choice of materials, the wall's size, and the complexity of the construction. Concrete blocks are generally more budget-friendly, while natural stone tends to be at the higher end of the price spectrum due to its labor-intensive installation. Timber, although less durable than stone or concrete, offers a middle-ground cost-wise. Additional expenses may include excavation, drainage systems, and landscaping restoration post-installation.
Retaining walls play a vital role in erosion control by stabilizing slopes and managing water runoff. They act as a barrier against soil erosion, effectively holding back earth and preventing downhill movement. Properly designed and installed retaining walls can also incorporate drainage solutions to manage water flow and reduce pressure on the wall, further mitigating erosion risks. This makes them an essential feature for landscapes prone to erosion or where slope stabilization is necessary.
The durability of a retaining wall largely depends on the materials used, the quality of construction, and ongoing maintenance. Concrete and stone walls are known for their longevity, often lasting several decades or more with minimal upkeep. Timber walls, while offering aesthetic appeal, may require more frequent maintenance or replacement due to susceptibility to decay and insect damage. Regular inspections and timely repairs can significantly extend the life of any retaining wall, ensuring it continues to perform its intended function effectively.
Retaining wall maintenance typically involves regular inspections to identify and address any signs of wear or damage, such as cracks, bulging, or leaning. Keeping drainage systems clear to prevent water buildup and pressure on the wall is also crucial. For timber walls, treatments to protect against rot and pests may be necessary. Proactive maintenance helps preserve the wall's structural integrity and appearance, preventing minor issues from developing into major problems.
Yes, retaining walls can often be repaired if they sustain damage. The approach to repair will depend on the extent of the damage and the wall's material. Small cracks or shifts in concrete or stone walls can usually be fixed without dismantling the structure, while more significant damage might require partial rebuilding. Timber walls may need replacement of decayed sections. In all cases, addressing the underlying cause of the damage, such as drainage issues, is key to preventing future problems.
